Hello,
I am hoping you are able to celebrate without those creatures that go bump in the night.

Welcome to my worlds!
Hello,
I am hoping you are able to celebrate without those creatures that go bump in the night.

So I had a realization while taking friend to get teeth pulled today. He is going under because the dentist is pulling four teeth. π³
He told me that he has the fear that he is actually being euthanized. He knows it is irrational but the fear is still very real, to them!
My realization was that it is easy to point to larger fears like Clowns, Snakes, Spiders or the Dark, however there are little irrational fears that haunt us. I am not sure most of us even realize we are carrying these fears or that they play a factor in our lives.
We are built, well most of us, to know how to instinctively survive. Don’t stick your hand on a hot stove, stay out of a polar bear cage, don’t eat a box marked poison, don’t swim in ponds in Florida (Alligators π). I could of course list a ton of examples, but what about when there is not a survival reason for the fear and when nothing has ever happened to warrant it?
How is this explained other than irrational?
I know there are even layers to these kind of fears.
If asked, I would say that I don’t have any fears. But I know there are times I have become uncomfortable, ill at ease, jumpy, or even afraid when certain circumstances occur. A weird noise when walking down a dark hallway at work. The building is secure, others are working, so why is the immediate emotion towards fear instead of curiosity?
It is something that definitely has me looking at things differently today.
I hope for you that someone steals your heart in the romantic way… and not through your chest.

Hello,
It doesn’t matter how you celebrate or if you choose to treat this time of year like any other, I hope this time is one to reflect on all the happiness you have had, to remember those that are no longer with you and cherish those that are.
I hope this time brings closure to any negativity in your life and starts a path of true joy.
But most of all, I hope your holiday is not full of those ghosts from holidays past throwing crap.

Hello Friends and Fans!
I wanted to wish you a very spooky Halloween.
I hope you are dressing up and celebrating, this my favorite holiday.
May your costume be amazing and your candy be plentiful!!

We are close… Well maybe about a month away from all Hallows Eve. This is when they say that the veil between the worlds (meaning the world of the living and the dead) is at its thinnest.
But what does that mean for us?
This depends on how in touch you are with the other-side. It also depends on your fear of that which goes bump in the night.
The stronger you are mentally, the more you can control you can have of the realm of the dead… At least that is my theory.
I have seen so many shows with people who have experienced ghosts and/or poltergeist. It is interesting to listen to them explain how their fear took over at some point and they became less in control of all the ties to our world and the other world took over.
Could you stand up to something you may only see, hear or feel? What if you could not touch it but you know it is there with you? When would the “not knowing” take over as your waiting for it to do its next action or speak its next word?
What if someone or thing from the other side is looking for a chance to cross over to finish some unfinished business with you?
But not to worry…I am sure you are safe… After all, you have no ties right?
May your All Hallows Eve be as safe as you can handle…

As a writer one of the most difficult things you can encounter is you. More specifically, what the normal, non-writers out there call “Real Life” and all of the things come with it:
Job
Friends
Kids
Family
Bills
Ok… Ok… These are all important, very important, but these are all distractions from writing.
I think however the worst distraction most writers will tell you is: The Internet.
Unlike the old time typewriter, the computer, laptop or even touch-pad is connected (normally) to the world wide web. Β What this means for most of us, is that we end up on social media or researching something on youtube and BAM! We are three hours later into our designated writing time and what are we doing? We are watching cat videos.
If you are a writer then the one thing you are required to do is: WRITE!
So, life will continue to throw hurtles, curve-balls and a million reasons your words can’t hit the page. So, consider the challenge to be that you need to find a way to set the “Real World” aside and let your world flow out so readers can enjoy it.
A very good friend of mine gave me some of the best advice I have ever heard. She treated writing like a job. She would leave her house every morning two hours early for work. She would go to the office and write for those two hours treating it like being an author was her first job. This way she, on a daily basis, dedicated the needed time to making sure she was able to do the job she loved.
However you have to make it happen. Make sure you do just that: Make it Happen!!!

Today you walk among us.
Today we see you.
In our hearts.
In our minds.
In our souls.
Today we remember.
We breathe, because you gave your breath.
Our hearts beat, because yours stopped.
We walk free, because you cleared the way.
Today we remember.
When we feel the wind on our face.
When we see the sun shine upon us.
When we look out to the horizon that is free to roam.
We know this land we live had a price and you paid it.
Today we remember.
We don’t know your names.
We don’t know the reason you chose to fight.
We don’t know the moment of your sacrifice.
However, we thank you.
For today, you walk among us.
As a mother myself I want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there. Being responsible for the health and happiness of a tiny human is one of the hardest jobs in the world.
Well done for making it happen!
Hello out there!
I wanted to send out a special thank you to everyone who has made 2015 a great year for me and has always supported me in my writing.
I am looking forward to my first full length novel “Mason Jars” being published in 2016!
I hope you have an amazing holiday!
As always watch out for those things that go bump in the night!
Erika
